Womens Health/Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy

Offered in:

DOTHAN, OZARK & ENTERPRISE, AL

What is the pelvic floor? And no, it’s not just all about the “kegel.” It’s a group of important muscles that actually has multiple important jobs within our body. Its functions include organ support, maintaining continence, sexual health, muscular stability for the entire body and also helps the body to pump fluid from veins in legs to prevent fluid retention. That’s a lot of jobs for an area that often doesn’t get enough attention.

We have a team of highly dedicated and compassionate practitioners who focus on pelvic floor issues, along with pregnancy and postpartum issues. We understand this can be a sensitive area to treat, and we can keep your more at ease by treating you in the comfort of your own home.   We emphasize a very supportive relationship, with open communication between you and your therapist. Our mission is to get you back to enjoying your life the way you want.

Dr. Jessica Munk left her career as an attorney working in clinical legal education to pursue her passion of holistic health care. Jessica chose Texas State University to obtain her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree because of the program’s strong emphasis on hands-on manual therapy techniques. After beginning her career in outpatient orthopedics, Jessica was quickly drawn to treating patients with pelvic floor dysfunction and pursued advanced training through Herman & Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In addition to continuing education in the pelvic floor area of practice, Jessica has training in manipulation of the cervical, thoracic, lumbar, and sacroiliac joints through the Spinal Manipulation Institute and in functional dry needling through the Integrative Dry Needling Institute. Jessica truly enjoys teaching patients tools that will empower them to take control of their wellness journey and maintain their progress. After working as a clinic manager, Jessica left to be able to spend one-on-one time with her patients. She believes that learning what is important to her patients achieves the best outcomes. Outside of work, Jessica maintains an active lifestyle, loves to travel and pursue new adventures, and enjoys spending time with her spouse and two dogs, Josey and Mako.
