Dr. Stephen Magee, PT grew up in Walled Lake, Michigan where he was heavily involved in local sports as a player, coach, and trainer. He graduated from Liberty University with a Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science before attending the University of Tennessee Health and Science Center where he earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy. During physical therapy school Stephen worked as a certified personal trainer with the American College of Sports Medicine at a local gym training local triathletes, powerlifters, and the general population.
After obtaining his doctoral degree, Stephen completed an orthopedic residency program and became a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist. Stephen’s treatment style is based on personalized medicine and his treatment is tailored to the individual in front of him and the goals they are trying to achieve. He has clinical expertise in orthopedics, vestibular rehab, and sports medicine with a history of treating triathletes, runners, golfers, and racket sport athletes. He is trained in manual therapy, spinal manipulation, dry needling, and taping to go along with his knowledge of exercise and the human body. He enjoys treating with an evidence-based care approach that is rooted in developing great relationships with patients in order to help them thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Stephen and his wife Rebecca love the greater Detroit area. They have 2 kids (Judah and Levi) and look forward to being involved in the community.
Dr. Joshua Griffith, PT is originally from Pleasant Hill, Missouri, where he was a three-sport athlete in high school. Josh played four years of college baseball, first at Fort Scott Community College in Fort Scott, Kansas, before transferring to Grand Valley State University to finish his playing career.
While at GVSU, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Exercise Science. In his final year of undergrad, he interned as a strength & conditioning coach for GVSU Women’s Soccer and with the Detroit Tigers Single A affiliate - West Michigan Whitecaps. After undergrad, Josh earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from GVSU. During physical therapy school, Josh served as an athletic performance specialist with youth athletes in Grand Rapids.
Upon graduation, Josh began practicing as a traveling physical therapist with placements in Kentucky, North Carolina, Georgia, California, and Washington, before practicing primarily in orthopedics in the Detroit metro.
His clinical background includes a history of treating orthopedics, vestibular rehab, and sports performance, with patient populations of overhead athletes (baseball, softball, swimming, volleyball), track & field, soccer, basketball, football, and CrossFit. In addition to exercise-based treatments, he utilizes manual therapy, spinal manipulation, IASTM, blood-flow restriction training, and taping.
What Josh enjoys most about being a physical therapist is teaching and promoting an active, healthy lifestyle. He loves helping competitive athletes of all ages return to the activities they enjoy. Josh's goal is to help people blend regular exercise into a busy schedule and make their health and wellness a priority in their lives.
